Where is the easy out?

Let's see, we have Wake who is playing good ball, G Tec need I say more, NC State, FSU, THE Citadel that beat the Gamecocks last year, and the #####. So, I ask where does the schedule get easier? One game at a time guys and leave no doubt. We could be playing a lot of ranked teams before it is all over.

NC State is the only ranked team we will play the rest of the way.

Wake is not ranked, not even close. Don't let Dabo fool you, it's his job to talk up the opponent. We will roll Wake if we play good football.

Wake is solid this year. They're kind of built to put together a "peak" year of upperclassmen with a ton of starts under their belt because they've been starting since they were redshirt and true freshmen, and have a good year (by Wake standards) every 4-5 years. Grobe did it and Clausen is definitely following the template as well.
This is their 8-4/9-3-type peak season, the kind that in the past they have even parlayed into ACC titles when the ACC was down and even a couple of BCS bowl appearances. 2006 (when they went 11-3 and won the ACC and appeared in the Orange Bowl) was another of those years and they look about that good again this year.
Don't sleep on 'em. We should win but this 2017 Deacs squad isn't terrible. I actually think they're the #4 team in the Atlantic - ahead of Louisville.

I never said they were terrible. But with the talent on this clemson team compared to the talent they have, and if we play good football, we should win by 3 tds.

Is this a joke? Who knows but I'll pretend like it's not.
With the talent level of this team, we should be huge favorites against Wake, Syracuse, the Citadel, and usuck. We will be at least a td favorite over GT and FSU. It depends how NC St does the rest of the year on how big of a favorite we will be against them.
Point being , we don't exactly have a grueling schedule left. It is much easier than the first month where we played 3 top 15 teams, two of them away.

Well said, and the reciprocal

is that every one wants us to keep being great because that means they played us, maybe close, and we were the measuring stick that they brag by. For instance, Auburn brags that they only lost to the number 2 team on their home field. And every one that plays us makes some boast about it - well, except Louisville. Kent St. a different narrative 'cause they just wanted to take the money and run.

Let's pick ourselves up off the fainting couches folks. Yeah, we had a few close games last year but had the grit and consistency to follow through. You want to worry about last year? This isn't last year. Everybody wants to conjure up stuff to worry about- defense may be better but offense is not as good, let's wring our hands.
Well let's compare. Last year we had seven games that were decided by a touchdown or less, losing one in the last five seconds. After our fifth game, we had three of them. This year we have exactly one game that ended where the opponent was within a score, Auburn, if you eould call it that, 8 points, but we could have played another 4 quarters and they'd have gotten no closer. HEck they could have probably played through the night and the next day and the only thing that would have changed is when Stidham got put on his back another forty times, on some of them he would have been looking up at stars. Margin of victory last year was 19 and a fraction. This year over 24 so far. Points scored for and against through 5 in 16 was 176-80, this year through 5 it 182-54. So we have scored more and given up a lot less and that is against three teams that are top 15 as opposed to last year's one through five games.
State does not stay with us if we play our game and hold on to the ball. No one does this side of the playoffs.

And Clemson will be heavy favorites in all upcoming games - still players and coaches have significant work to do. And there's the fact Clemson was much better than NCSU and Pitt last year.
