Songs you associate with a specific event in your life

Huge Lakers fan, CBS played this after the 1988 finals while showing the playoff highlights

After we bear UofSC in football in Cootlumbia in 93, we partied at the Genoa Club, Richard Moncrief showed up and took center stage dancing to this

Capt. Cook and the Coconutz playing at TTT, an inebriated Mauldawg dancing with his future wife to this

Lastly another inebriated Mauldawg singing this at TDs on karaoke

I so remember this song from a long car ride

to upstate NY as a kid. Hit on the radio and we probably heard it every hour on a 20 hour car ride. Still brings back memories of being a kid ....

first time I ever got

lucky in the back seat of the car, this song was on the radio. I recall the chick singing the words towards me right before the "bizness" started.

My full appreciations will always go to Robin Zander, he could get 'em hot and wet. The Budokan album worked just as well as any Barry White album back in those days.

My highschool years were pretty much a perfect cross between "Dazed and Confused" and "That '70's Show". Hangin out and ridin around the backwoods looking for a place to party. We didn't have a mall to go to.

Well, this kind of sucks but

when I was in 6th, maybe 7th grade, a friend of mine was supposed to be on the way up to Clemson on Saturday morning for a game with his family. However, he was a trainer for the high school football team so he had to clean up the locker room or stadium that morning, so was driving himself up just after them. His mom, dad and I think both sisters were in the car. They were just north of Aiken and a lady that had been driving through the night fell asleep at the wheel and ran a stop sign, t-boning their car. Killed dad and one of the sisters. Can't remember if he was just behind and drove up on the accident, or if that is a figment of my imagination. Flow could confirm that (family lived on our street and we all knew each other). All funerals are bad, but IIRC they did a double funeral and it was one of the saddest things I have ever witnessed.

Anyway, Break My Stride by Matthew Wilder was out at the time and was very popular. Every time I hear that song I associate it with that terrible memory.

As a kid it was awful, but I didn't fully realize how awful.

Now I do.

I've known a couple Daniels who have died.

One in college and one a few years ago. I associated this song with the first and was actually sung by the congregation at the second's memorial at my suggestion.
