Something I noticed about the ACC schedule

All ACC teams who have a game in the final week versus an SEC team have gone against what has been done recently by going back to playing a conference game rather than a smaller program like The Citadel, Wofford, etc. We, for example, play Duke the week before we play SC. FSU plays Boston College before Florida, GT plays Virginia before Georgia, and Louisville plays NCST before playing Kentucky.

Thoughts?

Well lets turn down the conspiracy theories a little. We know when we play scar and FSU knows when they play UF. We (and FSU) set the date of our out of conference games. So Clemson could have scheduled GA So (or Furman) the week prior to scar be we either elected not to or our opponent couldn’t do it then. The ACC isn’t responsible for that.

Now you could talk about how they scheduled our potentially 3 toughest games (NCSU, FSU, and UL) on consecutive weeks but I digress.

Yea I would rather play Georgia southern early in the season to help shake off any rust. If we get up early on duke we can still rest our starters, and that late in the season the backups play just as well as the starters anyways (with maybe QB being an exception)

FCS and ACC team for that week, along with many of our conference mates. It also seems like it's generally on the weaker side (Wake, Duke, UVA come to mind over past decade) when it's been a league game.

Florida gets Idaho before FSU.
Kentucky gets Middle Tenn before Louisville.
