Someone explain how schedule will work with ND?

Jul 25, 2020, 8:39 PM

So if ND comes in this year, if they go to one division (Atlantic or Costal), the ACC will be unbalanced, so don't see that working.

That means there will be no divisions.

Even if they do some type of POD system, with five teams per POD, you just have 4 teams to play (you don't play yourself). So there would be some type of cross-over to another POD for one team? How will that work?

Additionally if my math is right (and it definitely may not be right!)... there is no way to take 15 teams and each of them play 5 other teams and it to come out nice and neat.

Someone knows the right combination formula and can figure this out, but I don't think that will work.

I think we see a season of one division with 7 and the other with 8...just for this year...meaning keeping to the plan just go on with it. Change nothing.

With that said...I think it’s smart to put ND in the Coastal because their is literally zero completion there. FSU is down and Miami...who knows with them. Cross fingers that matchup in great vs us in South Bend that sets up a pivotal matchup in the ACC championship with playoff implications.

I would love to see us come in to big show having just beat an ACC team of some reputation ( even if it's just a perception ) in the ACCCG.

Would ND joining the ACC in football still bring in Navy too?

It's quite simple how it works;Notre Dame controls the narrative..
They are Head and Shoulders above any school,or conference in the country.
Thy set the scenario, and not even an act of Congress can change it.

3 Pods of 5 Teams; play twice. 8 games
1 crossover game ; play twice 2 games
1 Plus One (SC for Clemson) 1 game

Could be wrong, but if everyone has a crossover seems you have to have an even number of teams or someone is left out.

Team A B C pod 1 play TeamA B C pod 2

Team D E pod 1 Play D E pod 3

All pod 1 are done
Team D E pod 2. Play A B pod 3

All Pod 2 done

But poor team C in Pod 3!has no crossover.

Am I missing something? Unless ND is team C Pod 3 and doesn’t get that extra game???
