Some stats that make me feel better about NCST

I was perusing some stats and thought I'd post. Stats are through eight games each, but since I couldn't compare Furman, I left out Kent St and used the other 7 opponents to come up with opposition stats for both of us. If the averages were .5 or higher, I rounded up, .4 or lower, I rounded down.
CU Total Off. - 446 YPG (33rd) against Average Opponents Total D of 352 YPG (44th) NCSt Total Off. - 442 YPG (40th) against Average Opponents Total D of 372 YPG (52nd)
CU slightly better (4 YPG) against better competition (20 YPG)
CU Rushing Off. - 220 YPG (25th) against Average Opponents Rushing D of 148 YPG (51st) NCSt Rushing Off. - 162 YPG (68th) against Average Opponents Rushing D of 139 YPG (39th)
CU 58 YPG better against competition that is 9 YPG worse
CU Passing Off. - 227 YPG (66th) against Average Opponents Passing D of 205 YPG (46th) NCSt Passing Off. - 280 YPG (26th) against Average Opponents Passing D of 233 YPG (76th)
NCSt 53 YPG better against competition that is 28 YPG worse
Side Note - NCSt has the 109th worst Passing D (264 YPG). This is worse than CU and every opponent that CU and NCSt has faced this year
CU Total Defense - 282 YPG (7th) against Average Opponents Total O of 447 YPG (41st) NCSt Total Defense - 384 YPG (59th) against Average Opponents Total O of 415 YPG (65th)
CU significantly better (102 YPG) against better competition (32 YPG)
CU Rushing D - 119 YPG (18th) against Average Opponents Rushing O of 216 YPG (38th) NCSt Rushing D - 120 YPG (19th) against Average Opponents Rushing O of 178 YPG (68th)
Almost identical rushing D stats but CU competition is 38 YPG better
CU Passing D - 163 YPG (7th) against Average Opponents Passing O of 231 YPG (60th) NCSt Passing D - 264 YPG (109th) against Average Opponents Passing O of 237 YPG (62nd)
CU significantly better (99 YPG) against slightly worse competition (6 YPG)
A couple of other tidbits
CU Scoring O - 32.3 and Scoring D - 13.1 (19.2 Average Margin of Victory) NCSt Scoring O - 33.8 and Scoring D - 24.3 (9.5 Average Margin of Victory)
CU Strength of Schedule - 4th NCSt Strength of Schedule - 25th
CU Opponents Average Strength of Schedule - 24th NCSt Opponents Average Strength of Schedule - 41st
CU 3rd Down O - .451% (23rd) NCSt 3rd Down O - .396% 64th) CU 3rd Down D - .290 (12th) NCSt 3rd Down D - .430 (96th)
Sorry if too long, but we seem to be better in almost every meaningful category against equal or better competition.
Doesn't mean we'll win if we have turnovers or injuries, but I like our chances
Go Tigers!

Thanks for the stats. Seems most pundits have Clemson having little problems with NCSt. Hope the Tigers can outplay States emotion. State wants revenge for last year. Go Tigers!

The champs "US" must be able to accept some punches from the challenger. We must hit them back harder and if we get them on the ropes finish them off with tenacity! Take no prisoners and LEAVE NO DOUBT we are worthy of our CFP ranking!!! A Tiger is always superior to a wolf in any fight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Revenge? Revenge for what? Us coughing up the football inside their red zone 3 times? Or how about revenge for the cheap shot that knocked Gallman out of the game? Or how about the cheap INT for a TD to start the 2nd half? If anyone is looking for revenge it's Clemson for pretty much playing its worst game of the year minus the PItt game.

Forget about State's revenge factor. What about ours. State can't handle a motivated and focused Clemson team. If we come out that way it won't be close. I understand that they have some playmakers but their athletes are nowhere close to the same level as ours as a whole.
