If the Pac 12 Champ gets in the playoff, whoever gets the number 1 ranking basically gets a bye in the playoff. Thats why you want the best 4 teams imo.

whose last game was a win over top 10 Utah in favor of Alabama, who did not beat a single team who is ranked at the end of the season (Auburn may be ranked around 20 at the time of their game)?

Honestly, no you don't..
Oregon could come in and beat whatever team they play in the CFP. They have a very good QB. Just because the Pac12 hasn't been great as of late doesn't mean you can dismiss them because Bama..
That's just stupid.

Oregon has a good QB. They arent a top 4 caliber team. Bama would destroy them.

So you don’t want to see that proved out on the field? Records and championships mean nothing?
Playing devil’s advocate here, but Bama has made it to the final game more than they have not in the 5 years if the CFP. Should we also just let them skip the semi and take a spot in the Natty because “I know they’re good”?
You’re doing the sport a disservice by assuming a team sucks because you’ve seen them struggle more than succeed.

The point is we know UGA isn't the best team. Because it is a fact that they lost a game. We do not know that Minnesota is not the best team. It hasn't been proven yet. I believe UGA would beat Minnesota, but I can't possibly know.
That matters because it underpins the whole debate.

Georgia has the athletes to possibly be the beat team. That is not far fetched. Some teams have the athletes and some dont. Oregon doesnt on D. They cant get around that. How many times have you watched Oregon play this year?

Best is a circular argument. Why is Bama still one of the 4 best? Their schedule isn't much better than ours, they lost their only big game of the year so far in a game where they never lead and never looked like the better team.

I love the west coast. I am born and raised there. I just know the Pac 12. I watch it. My family are USC fans. The real one. My Dad went there. Half of my friends went there. I have even lived in Oregon. Just talking football.
