than other peer universities. It is a big deal for a university like Clemson to reach $600M and then set a new target of $1B. I know we didn't announce we're leaving the ACC, but it is still a very big deal.

Some people forget this is a university. It is pretty amazing for a school of Clemson's size to raise over $600 Million dollars in a few years.

As much as I love to think in terms of sports at Clemson, this is a very big deal for the university. As an alumni and donor to this effort, it is really exciting to see Clemson reach this milestone.
The larger the endowment at Clemson, the less reliant the university is on the state for funding. Given the state budget cutbacks, this fundraising effort is important. You are right, Clemson lags its peers in this department.
Question, is the $608M they raised include the previous endowment amount?
