I enjoy trying new beers. I hear all these wonderful things about Heady Topper. Short of driving to Vermont, how would I, a measly South Carolinian procure said brew, you know, for scientific purposes. Google says it's impossible. I have noticed that many of you fine gentlemen have had the honor of tasting said brew. Advice? Suggestions? Smartassery?

The Alchemist only sells Heady Topper in Vermont. People usually get it from someone else via trade or via a bar that sells is illegally.

Their first place used to be a small brewpub in Waterbury but was demolished in the floods from Hurricane Irene. Before the storm, they had opened a very small cannery up the road a bit to can Heady Topper. Once the brewpub was gone, they put all their time and energy into Heady Topper and getting it out to their Vermont base. Fast forward a year or two and they realized that their community was being overrun by beer tourists, they closed the cannery to the public and started to sell their beer via stores in Vermont.
For them, its all about the beer and not so much growing a huge business. They're happy doing what they are doing.
