Someone following you through a neighborhood. Both of them could have handled the situation better. IMO getting out of your car with a loaded gun to confront the guy you have been following for no reason is worse than the guy being followed feeling threatened and attacking.

what really happened is Zimmerman. Maybe he lied, maybe he told the truth. We'll never know, I suppose. My guess is, however, if the young man had simply gone on his way I doubt Zimmerman would have shot him. But I don't know that to be a fact.

I didn't watch the case but did hear the single witness said he saw Zimmerman on the ground getting pummeled. To me with the injuries sustained to GZ seems pretty clear. Can you receive stitches on the back of your skull and a broken nose sitting on top of someone?

In this case Zimmerman was doing what he was paid to do. He identified a potential suspect that matched the profile of a recent string of burglaries. At that point, he call 911 and was asked what the street names were so he left his car walked to the intersection and was returning to his vehicle and was attacked by Travon. He did not pursue Trayvon. Instead he protected his life as his head was smashed against the ground. This is the police report and facts and it should never have been drug our this long. Politics and media have no business in the judicial system. Circumstantial manslaughter.....maybe. Second degree murder...no way.

He was clearly following him in the car. He was told by the 911 operator NOT to continue following him. And unless I haven't heard correctly, Mr. Zimmerman made the decision to get out of his car. I have a very hard time believing he had to leave his vehicle to identify the street names, especially in a neighborhood he was supposedly a watchman for. He didn't have to follow him in the first place, he didn't have to continue following him, and he didn't have to get out of his car. He had at least 3 chances to end this before it even got started and he chose at least 3 times not to.
The fact is Mr. Zimmerman killed another person. Had he done what the 911 operator asked and stopped following him this entire situation would have been avoided. Was he defending himself against Trayvon Martin? Maybe he was, but had he heeded the instructions of the 911 operator he wouldn't have found himself in that situation in the first place. The jury found him not guilty of murder and manslaughter. However if he truly is guilty, he will have to pay his price in a higher court one day.

If the situation were exactly the same, except George was black and Trayvon was latino, charges would never have been filed.
The fight for equality shouldn't mean that blacks get special treatment because of the color of their skin, but that is what it has become.
