Steele talks Wofford, freshmen

Clemson defensive coordinator Kevin Steele said that this week’s challenge – against Southern Conference foe Wofford – is not as simple as people think. Full Story »

....Steele admits he doesn't know how to gameplan against Wofford or FSU? Hey coach... here's some news for you. If our guys don't know how to line up against anyone, it's YOUR fault.

Am I the only one who is bothered by this statement?

It was obviously a tongue-in-cheak comment..

Grow a thicker skin.. Obviously he can game plan

He seemed to gameplan against FSU

The only thing that bothers myself, and I'm sure alot others, is the negative statements you make on here all season long...............

I never saw the word "gameplan". The point was...

that this week's challenge (from a DC point of view) is not as simple as people might think. I don't have any reason to doubt his statement.

I'm sure he will do a fine job. I have heard in the past, that some of the preparation plans are done for each team before the season even starts. I'm willing to bet he already knows the defensive strategy for this week.

Exactly. You better have it ready before, because....

there's barely enough time just to implement the strategy in between games. Tweaks are fine and pretty much expected, but fabrication of the big picture better be done.

Par1: "Steele joked". Par2: "not as simple as people think"

Steele didn't say that he didn't know how to game plan. He was joking about FSU and pointing out the complexity of Wofford's O. I thought he provided sharp, witty insight, as usual.

I think Steele blew it on scheme in the ACCCG against GT (which he corrected last season against GT), but otherwise Steele seems to know his stuff. I don't lose sleep over his ability to game plan. If Dabo had hired a decent OC for the last two years and the offense had helped out a bit by scoring and not turning over the ball so much, Steele's defenses would have looked even better.

Do you think this is a simple. open article on what the coaches know and are planning? This is college football and obviously, we will make it seem we are playing Wisconsin rather than Wofford.

Remember son, you never give out the best info possible if you are a coach. If you were however, you would probably be redacting your previous statement.

They really should stop these "article" reply messages on Tigernet.
It's amazing that we can keep any coaches or players around with the crap some people post on here.
Worse yet, I see the negativity under our own recruit articles.

This should be kept in the message forums, out of view from the articles written.

Way to twist that into something it's not.***
