Why does any conference invite a school that does not increase their tv revenue? The Big 12 makes sense for Clemson and FSU because it gives the Big 12 a tap into the SC and Florida tv markets.
The SEC, as has been stated ad nauseum, does not need the states of Florida or SC. I know some argue that the SEC would invite schools like FSU and Clemson to "protect the tv markets" but the SEC has an interest in the Big 12 being strong. The new Champions Bowl is the Big 12 and SEC matchup and the SEC wants a strong Big 12.
I certainly see why the Big 12 makes sense for Clemson but I don't get the SEC being interested.
