Chaney's just going to use him in the Red Zone. Fields has been spot-on with his 20 yarders....actually bruising shoulders of our Wrs.

Sounds like you need a better WR coach. Suppose to catch with hands not body. Stick to running the ball I guess.

It was a figure of speech but whatever. Pray you don't have to defend against Robinson, Hardman. and Godwin. With all three on the field we'd run for 300+.

the staff knew that they had no need to backtrack on TLaw

Fields only made his name last spring and summer, and the hype was coming from the recruiting services... our staff knew who their guy was and didn't get distracted with the new ball...
most times the ball you've already broken in is better for your success than a new ball...

I think one of the best measuring sticks in this Fields/TLaw argument would be the head to head competition at lasts years Elite 11. Fields won the MVP. The Elite 11 staff must have been impressed.

Exactly. Everyone knows you judge a QB or any football player in shorts and no pads. Thats why the NFL combine is fool proof. Just so this does not confuse you too much I am being very sarcastic. I would assume most people are not so dumb to not understand but since you're a UGA fan on a CU board and using your last post as reference I've concluded you may very well be that dumb.

You're hilarious. The best measuring stick you say shows your inability to grasp and judge talent within QBs. Justin Fields ran a 7 on 7 team across the country and TL did not do 7 on 7s but you claim that's how you should judge a QB's talent level, didn't Jacob Eason have the greatest stats ever in highschool or something like that and was a total bust in your system? Somehow this is a measuring stick to you? Justin Fields couldn't find a way to win a more than 8 games a year, TL lost less in his career than Fields did in his senior year where he played in only what 7 or 8 games. You're a UGA fan. You always have the greatest team on the planet and ready to dominate the underwear olympics again but as always, it never pans out. It's always just shy, so again I find it hard taking your opinion on what was the "right fit." Makes sense as to why your spring game tends to be the biggest game of the year for UGA.

My last year of organized ball was for my regimental team here on base. Has a dude that had been tearing it up in flag tournaments was gonna come take over. Had a decent arm, moved well, etc. After a couple of days of practice he never came back. Difference was much like Elite 11 and real games. All of a sudden there are large violent MEN who are bigger and as fast. Makes a difference. I do think Fields is a good QB and if we hadn't got Lawrence would have been thrilled with his upside... but I, as well as a bunch of pro scouts sure do Lawrence.

I think many are being unfair in regards to Fields, but using a 7-on-7 camp to judge who's better is way off. The main reason Fields jumped so high in the offseason was because he was playing so many 7-on-7s and was fantastic while doing it. That's all good & well, but it's not the same thing as regular football. Furthermore, Lawrence didn't participate in many 7-on-7 camps in that period so he wasn't as accustomed to the style of play.
Both of our programs landed incredible talents with Lawrence & Fields. Who is better? It's fair to say that's yet to be determined. I think once football actually starts less people will care about this subject, but it'll still be fun to watch these two very talented players' careers unfold.

The best measure would be the results when a game is on the line... And before either of these guys take an official snap, their high school results speak volumes. But let's use even more recent views: practice against our own defenses. TLaw has performed better under the pressure of a better defense on the college level than fields has under a lesser pressure... We returned arguably the best defensive liner in recent memory for TLaw to practice against and he had done very well. Fields is working against a defense searching for a new leader to replace your best player from last year; Fields is talented but don't act like he better than TLaw and it's not even close, you are only filing yourself with that thought...
