for ISIS. http://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2014/06/isis-saudi-arabia-iraq-syria-bandar/373181/

Why this country through multiple Presidents (2 Republicans, 2 Democrats) won't declare Saudi Arabia as a terrorist sponsoring state, is beyond comprehension. No country in the world over the past 20 years has done more terrorist funding than Saudi Arabia. And specifically funding the wahhabist extremists that targets the USA and USA interests overseas. Time to declare Saudi Arabia a terrorist sponsoring state, and levy tough economic sanctions against them. Saudi Arabia are the biggest agitators out of all the Middle Eastern countries. If you want to fight terrorism start with Saudi Arabia.

That would be sensible and ethical.

And very bad business.

Even though most of our oil comes from Canada, it would be enough of an excuse (though only partially legitimate) for OPEC to send prices through the roof like we've never seen.

We have to make a more earnest effort to get off the oil teat, and get the petroleum lobby out of our government first.

Re: So ISIS claims responsibility for Texas and claims also to

It's entirely possible, nay, probable. We have ridiculously porous borders (except for the upstanding people trying to follow the law and immigrate legally), & a large segment of society that is poor, uneducated, angry & looking to blame/punish others for their plight. Perfect recruiting/mobilization conditions for those who thrive on guerrilla tactics & would do us harm.

That's why I'm encouraged by the events @ the Draw Mohammed contest. People are finally pushing back against the narrative that if we just tolerate Muslim extremists/terrorists, they'll stop their barbarism. & the fact that the would-be mass murderers were killed gives me comfort that people are willing to defend against them. It's fitting, really. The culture of the Middle East has advanced little in millennia, so chalk outlines have become the new hieroglyphs of the 21st century.

On a related note, it's funny that most of the people throwing around the term "Islamophobe" & speaking out in sympathy (even defense) of primitive, barbaric Muslim extremists/terrorists who refuse to coexist with other religions/cultures (look @ their texts & history...heck, their present), are the same dolts that have "COEXIST" bumper stickers. & there's a BIG difference between being "anti-Muslim" & being "anti-Muslim extremist/terrorist" -- a BIG difference. It's interesting that people can't discern the difference. The only way that anyone can conflate the 2 is if they see no difference between them. Maybe that's the case? That would certainly explain the lack of any appreciable resistance and condemnation of the Muslim extremists/terrorists by the "billions of innocent Muslims".
