The problem is not entirely with the judges who hear cases, Remember, it is the jurors who determine guilt or innocence.
In my many professional years I have appeared as an expert witness on many, many cases and rarely do you find a juror who has any idea of what has occurred on a particular offense. The lawyers prefer to not have any juror with any knowledge of what a case is about sit on the jury. I suspect that none of the jurors on this case were football fans. I am sure none of them had any idea of the importance (or lack of) of the rock to the traditions of Clemson. Believe me, the peer system doesn't work. Once a jury is selected, the attorneys do their 'thing' and the one that does the best job wins! The OJ trial was Americas best!!!

but the Counter-Culture has been appointing liberal judges for 40+ years now,
and the state of "justice"in America is appalling and pathetic at best.
Just look at the "changes" that the SCOTUS has wrought since Roberts went AWOL...
Of course when you have to have metal detectors in schools, your basic society is failing at a rate that is not sustainable.
Once the CC is finished tearing down America as punishment for Vietnam,
does anyone have any idea what they plan to put up in its place?
Leningrad re-dux? Hanoi West? Castro's Country Club? Paris 2 for the Privileged?

Just hope I never,ever see anyone damaging the rock. I will be the one in jail doing a few years for beating the crap out of them. So tired of this so called judicial system I could just puke. Justice was not served. Should have at least served some jail time, like 6 months and fined, probation for a few years and permanently banned from Death Valley. Just my opinion. Probably get slaughtered for this post, but I don't care. Love my TIGERS.
