Phil Ford is considered by many to rival Michael Jordan as the greatest Tar Heel basketball player ever. He started at guard as a freshman, was a 3-time first team All-American, College Player Of The Year, and NBA Rookie Of The Year. His was the all-time leading scorer for UNC for 30 years, until he was passed by Hansbrough in 2008.

Skip Wise was better.

When both Wise and Ford were freshmen in 1974-75, Wise made first-team All-ACC, beating out Ford at a time when the ACC was hands down the best basketball conference in college basketball and just like now, the Tar Heels were ACC media darlings.

Sure wish we had some video.
