Since coronavirus is our only sport, I'll add some analysis

This is the first outbreak in the era of mass social media worldwide. Swine flu 10 years ago was much deadlier and killed healthy people. We hardly discussed.

I can appreciate China and US trying to downplay it. They knew hysteria was imminent. This is not some US liberal hype machine to take down Trump. It's a worldwide social epidemic. Be happy the virus is not a big deal or we would really be in trouble.

In my opinion, until 24 hour news channels and Twitter go away, journalism returns, and people's lives have a purpose beyond looking at their phones, expect more of the same.

I wonder, since modern life has almost no real strife, is this us reaping our reward? I love a peaceful society, but we need to raise our kids with some artificial hardship then.
