Should Stoudt and Kelly get reps in Bowl game?
Dec 4, 2013, 11:22 PM
|
|
If yes, how many, and either way please explain.
I think Tajh's last big job here was to beat South Carolina. He should definitely start the bowl game, no doubt, but shouldn't we work the 2014 QB's into the game just a bit, to give them some chops for Athens next August?

Why is this asked

every time a QB is in his last game? Proctor, Cullen, KP, and if this is serious and not a troll Tajh deserve better than that.
We also have a pattern of first year QBs playing well, so it clearly doesn't matter that they don't get reps in the bowl game.

I hope we see a lot of both of them next year regardless.

They could be a pretty mean combo package throughout a game and season. I would think Stoudt would have the edge on snaps, but there's room for two in this offense.

YES Stoudt and Kelly will get reps in Bowl game PRACTICE!!
As it should be.
Tajh lead us to 10 wins this year and an ACC Title in 2011.
Besides that, it would be stupid to give a lesser QB snaps in a hard game to win.

They should play the whole game. We are going to be in sad shape next year as it is possibly without an OC and these QBs have no big game experience. Let Boyd start allow the other QBs to play at least a quarter. We will not beat ALA anyway is that is who we play. The turnover problem will not be solved by then

I'm sure the coaches are asking the same question.

No they are not. This is about the dumbest question. We're in this bowl game to win it not treat it as a scrimmage for next year.

The only way they should be getting snaps is if we are up by 35 in the fourth quarter. We are trying to get to 11 wins, and hopefully we get the chance win a BCS bowl. We will be playing a really good team no matter which bowl we end up in, and Tajh is our best option at QB.

NOOOOOO ! It is Tajh to win or lose. I believe he will play at a higher level since it is his last and he needs to prove to the NFL that he can win the big game and sc game was just a bad day !

If Bama etc... then give Boyd a shot at redemption like last year but any other opponent and Id start Stoudt until he was unproductive then play Kelly etc...

I think our record would be the same or better with stoud leading us. He really scans the field looking for the open man and has great pocket presence. I think he would pick bama apart.

Cole Stoud should have played a couple series of downs in the USuC game after it was obvious Tajh was on tilt again ...but Dabo and Chad were afraid they would offend Tajh..pathetic

...his first exposure to learning our system.
Tajh played awful against the (now) number one team in the country and the current number 8 team in the BCS standings.
Mostly, he's played well enough for us to win 10 games and be 12th in the country in total passing offense and total offense.
His running ability sets him apart from Stoudt...and gives us the best chance to win the bowl game, regardless.
He's led us to three consecutive 10+ win seasons. Surely, we haven't forgotten that, already.

And his passes are things of beauty! I think he should start next year and then Chad and then Watson three years and hope all three go high in draft. I do hope Boyd can redeem himself in bowl game like against LSU, however if he starts panicing again - take him out and allow Stoudt to try for a couple of drives. Hopefully, Boyd will settle down and be able to come back and finish brilliantly!
