I don't think he should be done for good-- I don't think that punishment is just-- but he should be gone for the season, that's for sure.

I wouldn't be surprised if Goodell does with Rice what he did with Aaron Hernandez, in if there was a team that wanted to sign him it would have to get preapproval by the league offices.

Nah....another team will pick him up.***

I have no sympathy for either her or Ray Rice. Only a money grubbing woman would still marry the guy that knocked her out.

abusers. You still have to separate the abuser from the VICTIM. Assault and battery is a crime unless you are a Celebrity is seems to me. Then it is just a tiff and the victim somehow deserved it. Many victims succumb to love and blame themselves. But the law is the law

Most victims are threatened with their lives if they press charges or leave the abuser. Someone like Ray Rice would be more apt to follow through unless the victim can get protection and most feel they can't get it. Just saying!!!

I have worked in a domestic violence shelter before. on average, a woman or man will go back to the abuser 8-10 times before they will actually leave for good. The victim has become convinced that all of the abuse is their fault. From an article...The couple held a joint news conference in May, where Rice apologized and Palmer said the incident was partly her fault, to the alarm of domestic abuse counselors. The abuser will beg and beg with all kinds of false promises to get the victim back in their control. Domestic violence is more about control than anything else. There is never anything a person can do or say that makes if OK to become violent against the victim. No one has the right to do this to someone. Normally it is learned behavior and at some point the cycle has to be stopped.

Yes, there are some money grubbing women out there, but the abuser already has control over the victim before they are married. The victim begins to feel that it will get better as long as she/he does what the abuser says. The abuser will make threats to the victim and promise abuse to family members if she does not cooperate. For all we know, he may have threatened to kill her or others if she did not marry him.
