Sensationalism is over the top

“could he be re-elected if removed” “Language turns darker”
No he cannot run for US office again if removed/impeached and who cares what he says. Freaking let the DOJ do their job and Pelosi take it to a vote. It’s really not all that difficult. It’s difficult cause of the two party system which our founders never saw when creating words like “high crimes and misdemeanors”. That is all from parliamentary process. Now with a two party system, it’s a ######## and being sensationalized. Just know they are making a billions of dollars off of all your clicks.

Read it. Then re-read it. Then read it a third time.

It says so much in context of what we have today.

First and foremost pay attention to the proposed solution to "factions". The solution Madison proposes to mitigate the destruction of factions is exactly what has been slowly eroding for the entire life of our REPUBLIC. The more power and control Washington has, and the less power and control the states have, the more destruction factions will create.

17th is not a big problem. 14th and 16th are though.

14th opened the door for same sex marriage, abortion, and equal application of anything that can be contrived to be a "right" being forced on everyone. Then the 16th was the nail in the coffin.
What's wrong with the popular election of senators? It was a curb on state corruption. At least I'm glad we have it in the case of SC.

said it all. The more power concentrated in Washington, the less power the states have. pre 17th, the States had a say in the powers in washington.

The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each State, elected by the people thereof, for six years; and each Senator shall have one vote. The electors in each State shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the State legislatures.
When vacancies happen in the representation of any State in the Senate, the executive authority of such State shall issue writs of election to fill such vacancies: Provided, That the legislature of any State may empower the executive thereof to make temporary appointments until the people fill the vacancies by election as the legislature may direct.
This amendment shall not be so construed as to affect the election or term of any Senator chosen before it becomes valid as part of the Constitution.[2]
How is state power checked when the people of each state directly elect their senators, versus their legislatures? Same number of senators. Same level of power and representation for the state in the Senate. I see no loss of state power in this change over the federal government. And as corrupt as our legislature is in SC, I'd wager we'd be stuck with a Senator who has greased the most skids in the statehouse versus who the people may want.

Explain it.
I like how Trumpies also resort to namecalling like their imbecile president when they get backed in a corner.

I didn't call Manac a name. I don't have to. He's easy to defeat in these debates.
