Scalp or pay it forward....

Jan 5, 2017, 7:44 PM
IMG_2810.PNG(65.4 K)

I'm struggling with giving a pair of tickets at face to my neighbor or sell to put towards mine....talk me off the ledge...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sell them to me for a few hundred more than you paid and we both win!

Jan 5, 2017, 7:45 PM

Market is the market. Is your neighbor worth $1000 preset?

Lol. What goes around comes around. And you'll know who's sitting next to you and that's good piece of mind after I was squeezed into the Auburn lower deck like a sardine.

What do they feed those rednecks in Alabama?! They're all huge!

Re: Scalp or pay it forward....

Jan 5, 2017, 7:56 PM

The problem is (as I was talking to you before) that the Teamtix I have ended up better than the Iptay. The other struggle is which pair to sell. Sit with siblings upper deck or sell those and sit lower corner. Go Tigers!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

so you are hoarding tix?

Jan 5, 2017, 7:59 PM

Definitely pay it forward. Someone else coulda gotten those.

Re: so you are hoarding tix?

Jan 5, 2017, 8:04 PM

The problems not getting rid of them. There are many loyal tiger friends that would want them. I feel like a lot of people may. E in the same situation. The prices may not necessarily drop a lot because there is a backup friend to give them to if I don't bank them.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

but you requested more than you need, right?

Jan 5, 2017, 8:10 PM

Sell to anyone at face or a small premium.

You have tix that someone else could have had.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: but you requested more than you need, right?

Jan 5, 2017, 8:15 PM

I stuck my neck out there unlike others before the Louisville game and paid $100 each on teamtix and it worked out. And also have been paying My share to Iptay for years.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's very easy to get face value tickets.

Jan 5, 2017, 8:20 PM

IPTAY donation.

You didn't even need to have season tix.

My buddy got 2 tix and he had only been an iptay donor for 2 years at the 2nd lowest level.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: It's very easy to get face value tickets.

Jan 5, 2017, 8:38 PM

right, and that's great.

but, if he only needs 2, why request 4?

the teamtix thing was already done, long before the IPTAY sign up. So why sign up for IPTAY tix that you don't need?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: It's very easy to get face value tickets.

Jan 5, 2017, 8:42 PM

Didn't know how many I would get guaranteed. Been in Iptay for since I graduated in 2001. Iptay is actually something I'm proud of. I've built my points myself not through a silver spoon. Go Tigers!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

isn't that how teamtix works?

Jan 5, 2017, 8:49 PM

you reserve the spot for the guarantee of the face value tix?

you knew how many you put in for and then did IPTAY as well, clearly you want to re-sell at a profit, so screw your neighbor, put em on stubhub and use the money for your hotel.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: isn't that how teamtix works?

Jan 5, 2017, 9:18 PM

I knew Teamtix but iptay was no guarantee...hell no guarantee until I had that ticket in hand yesterday

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

so scalp it, you clearly requested more than you needed

Jan 5, 2017, 9:22 PM

unless you did this to profit, you wouldn't even be asking.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Jan 5, 2017, 9:24 PM

You clearly are not in Iptay...I paid it forward

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

which takes me back to my original point

For a little profit. I paid an iptay member 300 over face, 600 total.

Jan 5, 2017, 8:20 PM [ in reply to Re: Scalp or pay it forward.... ]

Tough decision. Pretty happy with our TeamTix location as well and I know a guy who got front row in Az. last year. Good stuff.

I'd probably sit with the family, they're the people I wanna celebrate with immediately after. If the tickets are better in the lower corner, pay it forward. Perhaps make a little.

I watched two upper deck and two lower deck transactions take place yesterday. You won't believe me when I tell you, but a gamecock fan at work, his son, purchased team tix for Clemson and Bama. Smart kid, don't know if he purchased for any other teams.

Anyway, he sold the Clemson uppers for 800 each and the lower end zones for 1000 each. Thought that price was totally fair actually. Sold to people in our office and kept the mega sites out of the transaction, even cooler.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

pay it forward

Jan 5, 2017, 7:56 PM

Errbody should be doing this.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

NOBODY PAYS IT FORWARD WHEN

Jan 5, 2017, 8:13 PM

You have SC State and Citadel tix.

Nobody says, let me give you a hundred for those since you let me buy your FSU tix for face.

That's why I have no issue with people getting it while they can. It never works the other way. Everyone wants a free deal.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

follow your conscience....

Jan 5, 2017, 8:18 PM

this advice requires that you cede your tickets to me....

One compromise

Jan 5, 2017, 9:39 PM

If you bought them through IPTAY, consider what it actually cost you to get the tickets (some portion of your annual IPTAY contribution + cost of tickets) and come up with a reasonable number that way.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Scalp or pay it forward....

Jan 5, 2017, 9:43 PM

Your tickets. Your neighbor. Totally your decision.
