Say I'm wrong. Saban to Texas is end to SEC dominance.

Until...he convinces Texas to join the SEC. He will want the A&M rivalry back. All other schools may as well quit football. Saban with Texas recruiting, money, tradition...he may never lose another game. He will be hailed as the king of college football for all eternity.

Saban would have an easier route to the national championship at Texas too IMO.

Beat OU, and a good Baylor or Texas Tech team every once in a while and you're undefeated…

The Big 12 doesn't even have Nebraska any more.

Dabo will have to change his motto to "2nd Best is the Standard".

SOS might be the only thing holding him back, similar to what Urban Meyer is dealing with at OSU. If both of them start playing an elite OoC game every year it might get nauseating seeing the both of them in the playoff every year. This deal has the potential to make college football boring.

It's all about money.

That's why Oregon has been so successful, and why Texas, USC (the real one) and Stanford will likely continue to be elite programs IMO.

They all have good locations and/or tons of money.

He might have another good run at UT but...

The SEC will probably remain the best football conference during our lifetimes.

Let's not forget how recently the SEC rose up

Dec 11, 2013, 11:42 AM

It's cyclical. I doubt they'll be the best for the rest of my life. Especially with there being talks about potentially separating from the NCAA...

The PAC 12 will likely pass the SEC IMO.

Based on the fact that there is more wealth concentrated in California. (especially the Bay Area and So Cal)

It also depends on how the conferences are organized. (long term)

Has any coach ever won football national championships at 3 different schools?
