He will never get anything close to that, but I hope he does win his suit. He was wronged. He is a complete DB, but he was slandered by CNN. It seems like he is a lock to win.

I don't know what they (CNN) said, obviously...

Mar 13, 2019, 7:00 AM

But is the basis behind the suit that CNN knowingly made false and slanderous statements against the young man? Is that the threshhold? What if they reported on the video as they got it, and the talking heads gave opinions based on that (which was later known to be incomplete/out of context)? Would CNN be held liable for not confirming that the video was the complete story?

I don’t have an answer but it will be interesting to see

if a journalistic standard applies to things like slander. I have no idea.

Hope he wins.

He might but a ding in their wallets...

But it's a drop in the bucket compared to the profits they rake in by making the "news" sensational and divisive. And they do it because that's what the consumers want.

Nobody and no company is going to "go down".

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I beg to differ on that specific profit engine

Mar 13, 2019, 8:30 AM

I don't watch the news because of the exact reason you say they're raking in massive profits.

Maybe...

remains to be seen.

There is at least a chance a judge would rule that the only thing keeping this "slander" in the public eye is his filing lawsuits over it. I had to look up what the hell you were talking about by googling "sandman" and reading about Metallica and then googling "suing CNN" to actually figure out what you were talking about.
