I had a sly little grin while reading that entire article. I love it. Some of my worst experiences with other fans are with tenn fans. I still remember all the cries about how they deserved a better opponent for the 04 peach bowl and they were so much better than little ole Clemson. And then of course they said they didn't wanna be there and that's why they lost.

I have a distinct memory of that too. I was at that game on the first row right behind the Clemson bench. I screamed so much that night I could barely talk for days.

I take most of what he said as a compliment to Clemson and more of a dig at the TN football program. With a little bitterness added in for good measure.

Their own fans seem to have a firmer grip on reality than the chickens... from their forums yesterday:
"top to bottom the ACC right now is better than the SEC. in the ACC you have more competition at the top (FSU and Clemson), and more teams from the middle beating the teams at the top (Pitt/UNC).
the same argument we used to use as the top conf, is now the reality in the ACC. they aren't just FSU and everyone else anymore.
whereas in the SEC, it's Alabama and everybody else right now. don't have to like it....but it's true.
and someone nailed it earlier, the coaching in the two leagues has swung...and the ACC has always gotten good players, always fared well in sending talent to the NFL. now the coaching is better.
the two leagues have switched places over the last 5 years or so."
