Maybe I am soft, but I felt bad for the kid, sometimes a good friend will tell you not to do something that seems like a good idea. The shot of him rubbing his paint off at the end was just sad.

I see this a couple of ways.

He has self confidence even though he is entirely to fat to be that young. He did it to be funny and have a good time.

or

He has no self confidence and can't make friends. He did this to try to gain some points with the others.

I feel for him only it it was option 2 that led to his behavior.
