Saban To The Giants?

Jan 10, 2018, 9:22 AM

I am hearing a lot of scuttlebutt that the Giants could be going after Saban in a similar way the Raiders went after Gruden. It wouldn’t be 10 years probably, but what ever the length offered would be pretty substantial maybe with a stake in the team….

If Saban turned down such an offer then he will never leave Bama.

Would Saban take the job if offered “ridiculous” money?

How much more can he accomplish at Bama at 67?

This could impact us as we would find out finally if Dabo is "All-In" at Clemson or will "Go Home" if Mama calls...

Thoughts?

He's not leaving Alabama after tying Bear Bryant. He wants that 7th national championship. If it was 10yrs ago maybe different, but he's finishing his career at bama.

Everyone has their price..Even Saban

I agree with your points...In fact that is main reason for him to stay..

With that said, if he has the NFL bug at his age and if the Giants offer him Fort Knox type of money, he may never get another offer like that...

I do tend to think he stays..but but this will be interesting to see play out until the Giants fill that position.

Needs 1 more NC to beat the Bear

Jan 10, 2018, 9:26 AM

He's not going anywhere until that happens

Saban's going for Bear's record.

Jan 10, 2018, 9:26 AM

He'll ride out his career at Bama.

Dabo will not replace Saban. Maybe 2 coaches down the road ,after Bama's back to the Shula Years, they'll get him to come home. BUT, as we know, Dabo will talk it over with his Family. Those 3 Boys are Clemson bred and already kept him here once.

Why in the world would he even remotely consider doing that***

For Mortal Like Us You May Not Get it....

He has more money than he will ever need, but still coaches...

He has all the College accolades he will ever need but still coaches....

He's a competitor...That's why.

He doesn't have a Lombardi Trophy...

He hasn't succeeded at the NFL level.

Simple folk like us thinks a guy like Saban is living in Shangri-la, but he is on a different level mere mortal.

You appear not to get,

Jan 10, 2018, 9:54 AM

he's only tied Bear, not going anywhere till he beats him. More important to Nick than NFL.which he has already failed at once.

Didn't he say that if he'd gotten Brees he might still be in

The Giants are a disaster right now. If he were to take one

Jan 10, 2018, 10:00 AM

more stab at the NFL (which i don't think he will), I'm sure he could find a better situation than the NYG.

He's crazy if he gives up the chance to be the undisputed greatest college coach of all time for a chance to be a decent pro coach for a brief tenure.

He doesn't need more money.
