lol

took the words outta my mouth

he's got a chance though, just little technique things

he's usually in pretty good position, and at the VERY END grabs or slaps at the WR's arms

he's got a TON of potential

he may be the biggest surprise coming out of spring ball

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

which aren't so bad in our scheme

we played a lot with Fields on an island at a young age. gotta get comfortable so he uses the hands less

How times have changed ... we are calling a 6'3" 300 lb guy

Feb 22, 2017, 11:11 AM

a "smaller DT" ... :)

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Also "hoping" a 6'3" 240lb 5* can handle a LB spot.

Feb 22, 2017, 12:31 PM

Good times.

There's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask questions.

I remember when the fridge was the only 300lbs guy on the team. And if you look at the roster of the 81 national championship team most lineman weighed under 250.

I too thought that was a bit of an over statement, or is it an under weightment??????

I was thinking the exact same thing! They must be referencing the 6'3 part. Which is I believe average height. You don't want your DL too tall because the potential to loose leverage is there. 6'0 is small not 6'3 for a DT.

I wonder -- could Shaq Smith be a 4 year starter at LB

Feb 22, 2017, 1:26 PM

With a year in the program and opportunity through graduation. He could be a beast there for a while.

“Clemson wasn’t that much better with Trevor Lawrence, if at all.”

orrrrrr could be gone after his redshirt sophomore year

Feb 22, 2017, 1:30 PM

Depending on how his timeframe to pure domination that is inevitable

Nothing about Skalski?

Feb 22, 2017, 3:31 PM

Think he has good potential, no?

Ryan Carter

Feb 22, 2017, 4:05 PM

IMO...
Is not the answer at Cb.

Re: Ryan Carter

He did not impress me in man coverage to your point. However, if you recall, he did make his fair share of plays while on the field. I like him in zone a ton more than in man. If he improves his 1 on 1 technique; foot speed; hip turn, etc. I really like Carter! He has a nose for the football, just don't trust him one on one.

Albert Huggins - If he applies himself.........

Feb 22, 2017, 6:32 PM

............... will be a beast on the DL this year! You can never have enough good DL on the team. Especially in the era of snap the ball as many times as possible. Lots of teams including Auburn often try and gash a tired defense right between the tackles when they are tired. He has a ton of talent; just needs to put it all together and "grind hard" now through the end of next season. The rest will take care of itself.

Kamar, Smith, Mullen - time to put them to work

Feb 22, 2017, 9:37 PM

They have to earn it - that said, they will be leaving after jr seasons for the NFL team or after sophomore seasons if they aren't starting or in the rotation. Will be interesting.
