Rushing numbers way down

Hopefully this improves but we are struggling to run the ball this year. Especially in short yardage.
This year we are averaging 161 rushing ypg and averaging 4.43 ypc.
Last year we averaged 240 rushing ypg and 6.4 ypc.
In 2018 we averaged 248 rushing ypg and 6.6 ypc.
That’s a 2 ypc difference and about 80 ypg difference. I know it’s early but those numbers have to improve if we want to beat the good teams we face. Just my humble opinion.

I’m not worried about missing the playoffs. We will beat up on the ACC. This will matter against playoff teams.
I love Dabo, but he blows smoke up our butts on a regular basis about how good his players are. He literally thinks 100 out of his 120 players will be NFL starters one day.

I think we worked on our passing game more in camp. I think it's a matter of reps for our new OL starters. The UVA game was just what the doctor ordered. Physical and tough and mentally tough football in the trenches. Now they have a taste of what it would take to beat a Bama or a Florida. I think by the time the playoffs roll around the OL will be ready. Spring ball was cut off due to Covid. So, just fall camp right! Then your most experienced DL were not able to participate in spring and early in fall camp(Pinckney and Williams). So our new OL starters didn't get that punch in the face on a daily bases like you would like. Now that the season has started they will just have to learn on the fly. Because often during game weeks practice isn't as physical.
Covid hurt us from this aspect in a large way. Covid plus injuries to key players.
We'll be okay! I am not worried.

I’ll tell you what he doesn’t do is blow smoke up players butts like Bryant, Feaster, Cooper, Chase... he puts the right players on the field at the right time. I’m ok with glass half full. They are kids and sometimes they need to hear we
Believe in them. His goals are more macro.

Run blocking hasnt been very consistent so far. Its probably more a tribute to Travis we have run as well as we have

I have been watching all of our games and have come to the conclusion that there is some indicator that we are giving or the opposition is stealing our signals, because they are really packing the line when we run a straight forward running play. They are not doing the same on RPO's or pass plays. This is getting very disconcerting, because there coming a time that we will need a yard and the other team will be reading our mail.
