Running backs position

Oct 2, 2019, 5:37 PM

Etienne
Dixon
Dukes/Mellusi
Rencher

I would love to see Dukes and mellusi get more carries. They both look promising with a ton of potential. I hope we see more of them going forward.

with ETN's lousy effort blocking on Saturday, I would've loved to see Lyn-J get more playing time, the whole situation was messed up, a lot of the pressure on Trevor was from Travis' missed blocking assignments & I think Mikey Dukes would be a great 3rd down back catching passes out of the backfield

I don't understand why so many Tigernetters are sometimes subtle
and other times just downright critical of certain players and
coaches because we won by one point. If you look back, we had a
close win with Auburn and the cuse and we still won. We have won
two Nattie's in three years so what's the beef? We are gonna be ok.

I mostly agree, but it is Dabo himself who has said that we "play to a standard". It is OK for fans to point out that we did not play to that standard. I think Dabo would agree with that also. The O line jumping five or six times is not our standard, the O line not opening up holes is not our standard, missed tackles are not our standard, missed blocks by our RB's is not our standard.

Problems are close games in our first halves in a weak schedule and an inconsistency in drives ARE concerns that MUST be fixed... 5 games into the season and they haven't been corrected yet. That is the legitimate question. The linebackers are not getting off blocks as they did last year and often do not make many of the tackles... they seem a bit slow and heavy... the left guard seemed to be drugged or slowed with some of his blocks... the quarterback just doesn't seem confident in many of his decisions in throwing... OL must improve their play... and the defense allowed too many open holes for runners. Coaches have been able to correct things like these in the recent past... Not so much before Watkins quarterbacked.

The banner at the top of my page says “Tigernet” so why are all these Gamecocks having discussions about their shortcomings?
