Ross' catch no catch should have even been an issue

Dec 29, 2019, 12:47 AM

Wasn't he in the process of being tackled going backwards? Forward progress stopped? That's if it was a catch...

In real time, I thought he never caught it. During the replay, it looked more like a catch. If that play was dependent on us getting a first down or a touchdown, I probably would have argued that it was a catch. But I could see it either way. I’m just glad that the call went our way.

the bear called it. Said it definitely wasn't a catch

he doesn't miss much. They go to him for the "expert" opinion for a reason

The rules expert they go to is Bill LeMonnier...not Chris "The Bear" Fallica.

If we needed it for a 1st down - I could see them "not awarding it to us easy"! I've never seen it even argued that much when the guy never brought it in. He never brought it in - it was in his hands then knocked out before he secured it.

I missed what they were saying about a “football move” but that definitely never took place as far as I could tell

If that play would have occurred in the end zone it would have been called incomplete on the field immediately. That was the most ridiculous call I’ve seen on field refs make in a very long time. He never controlled it and put it away, he never turned or executed any type of football move. Terrible on field call by the refs.

He didn’t have time to turn up field for a football move.

No catch

One one replay angle, even OSU player is waving no catch

Dec 29, 2019, 12:56 AM

It’s pretty clear in real time. It’s one of those plays where the refs let it play out then review. Should not be controversial.

It was not an issue because he did not secure the ball and bring it down to his body with possession......should have been ruled an incomplete pass on the field by the SEc officials....Go Tigers!!!!!
