Stand and be counted - who wins the election?

Nov 4, 2012, 8:27 PM

I know, the American people lose.

Sirriusly - not asking who you want to win, but who do you think will win?

Obama or Romney? Let's hear it.

I say Obama. I think Romney has to win Ohio, and I don't know if he can pull it off. It's gonna be close, and interesting either way.

Romney

Nov 4, 2012, 8:42 PM

51-48-1 popular, close electoral something in the 280's or so.

When I look at all these polls and really try to digest all the points the various sides are trying to make about why theres are right, I come down to thinking two things that gets me there:

1. I think the D's are slightly oversampled, but not by as much as some on the right are saying. 2. I think the undecideds do what they always do, break in majority to the challenger. Between those two factors I think you take the RCP average and make those two assumptions you get to my 51-48-1 figure. Again, electoral which is what matter much closer then that.

Too many stoooooopid people in America who depend on the gubmint from cradle to grave. They will not vote an end to their gubmint teat.

Obama.

Obama beats both the old and the new Romney. Romney may carry popular vote, as did Al Gore, but President wins electoral college. Romney ran for governor as moderate Republican, turned right after he did not seek re-election to appeal to conservatives. Won nomination, then tried to moderate again to appeal to middle class and women. If he wants to run on his record as governor, why is he losing home state by double digits? Could be very similar to Gore...if he had won his home state of Tennessee he could have won election.

Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale hath had its effect: like a man, who hath thought of a good repartee when the discourse is changed, or the company parted; or like a physician, who hath found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead.

Meanwhile, the morons in Congress get a pass for yet another election cycle.
