that if Coach Spence stays, he implements some short yardage formations and plays. We have a pretty fancy offense, but sometimes you just need to get back to basic smashmouth football.

how silly you people are... i have been reading this crap for years...first it was well,, we dont ever throw the ball.. then it was ,, well we are slow.. and then it was ,, well we dont like TB ,, are all you people ALabama fans. grow up and be glay your team is fast and fun to watch , and your coach isnt jumping ship every 3 years.. sheesh

There's nothing silly about us wanting to win and improve, year after year. If you watched our "fast and fun" team this year, then you would agree that there are times when you just have to pound the ball down someone's throat and be boring... and win another game or 2.

i totally agree with running from the two, unless you cant run , as was the case a few times this year. I have been a Clemson tiger for 47 years. I was born on the campus there, so i guess id say all my life. I sat in the stands and watched Alabama and Auburn kill us in the 70's . im just glad we dont have that worry anymore. I dont always agree with the coaches. I yell at the games and at the TV. but its nice to be able to at least move the ball now.

Cookster22 if you're out there... in response to your counterpoint about my assertion that Spence was foolish to call more runs than passes against BC's #2 ranked run defense and #104 ranked pass defense..>
BC's run defense (ranked #2 when they played Clemson, and ranked #1 by the end of the season) basically shut down the running game of every team they played. Only two teams rushed for more than 100 yards; VT (116 yds in their loss) and UMD (135 yds).
FSU beat BC through the air, passing 72% of their plays. In VT's loss to BC, VT rushed 62% of their plays. In VT's title-game win against BC, VT passed 68% of the time. I guess VT's OC learned that you don't run against BC's top ranked run-defense. I wish Spence could learn and adapt.

According to a another site,Spence withdrew his name from consideration for the UT OC job.Does anybody believe that Spence was seriously offered the job?By withdrawing from consideration,it looks better for him than to say he was never really wanted by UT.

I just hope that Spence will learn to make adjustments when a part of the gameplan is not working against the better opponents.Overall,he has done a good job but not against the better teams on our schedule.Lets see what his game plan is against a very good Auburn defense.This game will tell the tale if he is a great OC or he is not.

you griped when Tommy's team didnt put up big offensive numbers and now he hires the best hire that was out there at the time and the offense is up there in most all offensive catagories and much better than it was before Spence got here and all you can do is complain about him....Once again the worst thing about Clemson fans is they are never satisfied....unless we are winning National Championships every year and we lead in all defensive and offensive catagories....some times we are our own worst enemies....Tahnk God TDP and TB have good heads on their shoulders and dont listen to most of you guys

I don't think I have ever put a message up on here but I agree with the minority on here. I am sick of the negative comments. And I sure that if we would have run it 4 times from the 2 yard line and not made it in, then everyone of you that are saying we should have run it would be posting on here saying Spence was stupid not to throw it. Isn't it easy to be a genius in the past tense.

Coach Spence would get out coached by most 1-A high school coaches in the state. His offence looks great vs the lower tier teams, but GT VA TECH BC where were the great numbers
