Remember back in 2013/2014 it was predicted that...

...2016 would be our year? It turns out that we should have won it in 2015 but a lot of us just shook it off and were happy we got that close because 2016 was our year anyway. Of course we went on to win it in 2016 just as predicted several years earlier.

What about 2018?...I don't recall any predictions that 2018 would also be our year. Is it because after the 2017 KB campaign we felt that DB was going to muck it up and not do the right thing by elevating TL? To me it seems like 2018 just materialized with the thinking that likely we would go to the playoffs, maybe go to the natty but not win it all.

It just seems that prior to 2018 thinking this is all a surprise whereas 2016 we just knew it.

I think the difference in calling 2016 "our year" and calling 2018 "our year" is having to rely on a junior versus a freshman to lead the way for the offense.

Clemson fans knew both were amazing talents. It's easier to trust a veteran who has already looked dominant.

I heard people before this past season saying that 2019 would be "the year".

after the 2016 championship. I knew that KB wouldn't get us to a natty but a sophomore or junior TL would.


'15 was completely off the radar for me since everything leading up to that was suck. After the '15 season tho everyone knew that '16 was the year.

I too remember that prediction from 2013/2014 about 2016 being our year, but can't for the life of me remember if that was a Tnet post or a Tnet article with Dabo prediction. I've mentioned this to a friend a while back and would love to find the source of that prediction, if you or anyone else on here has the evidence.
