Recruits...

Ever think that we may have recruits that commit to us taking up space for more talented recruits just cause they see Clemson is a powerhouse. You think it could hurt us in the future? Being us signing alot of 3 stars then not having room for the 5 stars that want to come here? I understand stars don't mean anything but still what if... Let me know what you think.

We don't offer 2-stars just to take up room for a 4 or 5 star, of course, based on the evaluation of Dabo and Staff.

Prime example: Nolan Turner. Could have easily taken a higher recruit.

You'll see when we play much more efficient passing teams in the playoffs. He's played above expectations, but he will be exposed against the likes of Alabama, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, or Georgia.

Dabo does not recruit by # of stars. He recruits by the quality of the individual. That is what makes Clemson great.

We are selective about who we allow commit.

If you'll try and recall, many decommitments come at odd times. I believe the offers are pulled from many of them. Sometimes we find more suitable players and sometimes we find more talented players interested in committing. Sometimes we discover a commit is not of proper character to fit with our composition.
Coaches can't speak about a commit until he's signed a LOI. That leaves the players to explain why they 'changed their minds.' Many times they have no choice and most kids don't want people to know they didn't measure up to Clemson standards.
A few may actually think the grass is greener on the other side of the fence and some of those are right. If they want early playing time and are willing to settle for a team that lacks the talent to redshirt them or beat them out of the starting job they are right.
Only the best for Clemson.

cycle. They identify the "Blue Chips" they are interested in and the Team Players they think will develop into starters/contributors (Falcinelli, Kendall Joseph, Hunter Renfrow). They assign slots by position groups. Some are first come first serve and others are held for a particular guy they feel will come their way (Ross, Carman, Henry).

Is this a serious question or are you just trolling? Our recruiting has never been better. Dabo will never deny a commit for another player. They will however try their best to make numbers work so both can come.

This just isn’t true

We’ve denied plenty of commitments (see: Cam’ron Kelly), but while some schools offer a kid and will even accept their commitment knowing they will likely not let them enroll when a bigger prospect tries to commit (Petrino, Saban, Kirby, Chump, etc), we will not accept their commitment. It is communicated when we offer that this offer is commitable now but that there’s no guarantee it will be commitable next week, next month, etc. But if we accept their commitment, that scholarship is honored.
But to say that we don’t turn down commitments is false.

If our coaches were worried about that they wouldn't offer them. There's a reason we give out the 2nd lowest amount of scholarships per year. All of our scholarships are committable for this reason as well, if you've been offered our coaches want you just as much as the 5 star.

to even GET an offer from Clemson.
I can't believe people are still questioning this. developmental players are crucial to the stabilty of a program. Go out and sign classes that are all 4 & 5 star dudes and you end up like FSU.

"Character" is not in the star rating

FSU wasn't paying attention to "character" only star rating. Note the undisciplined hot mess that FSU field last satty.
