Recruiting/talent comparison; GT vs. Clemson

Starting in 2011 (per Rivals):
5-Star recruits: Clemson - 5, GT - 0.
4-Star recruits: Clemson - 26, GT - 4.
We are far, far more talented than GT. I'm trying to think, what factor could possibly account for their drubbing of us today?

if they did, that alone can't possibly overcome the tremendous talent difference across the board.

that even with the injuries, we shouldn't be expected to beat GT, given the overwhelming talent difference. Every team battles injuries, and when the talent is close, you'd expect it to be a factor. The talent is not close in this case.

Do not like dour P. Johnson but he wins ACC with our talent

Paul Johnson beats Florida State and makes a run for the natl. championship with our talent level. The problem with Johnson is he cannot recruit top talent into his offensive system. But he can coach. And win natl championships (e.g. Georgia Southern). And beat Ga Tech (while at Navy). Yes, frankly and unfortunately, he can coach circles around Dabo and Chad but he cannot out recruit them.

Like stated earlier, qb play. DW plays the entire game healthy, we win. He's out, game over. It didn't help Cole threw two pick-6's.
Thomas is a fine athlete. Don't treat him like a scrub. He turned down Bama to go to GT, so give him some credit.
Clemson is on solid ground and will have a bright future. Tech caught us on an injured day and took advantage of our mistakes. Congrats to them for capitalizing.
