Recruiting Tactics

May 20, 2020, 3:58 PM

Some coaches believe in casting a broad net by offering every high school prospect they can find. How can any head coach and his staff really do an in-depth evaluation of 350 prospects, Dabo, and several other coaches, do a lot of evaluation and limit their offers to a very special group. When Dabo misses on a primary target, he has to seek a replacement. He has been known to find several diamonds in the rough and other coaches are aware of this. Chandler is an excellent example. Before he received an offer from Dabo, he had no major offers. After Dabo offered, Chandler immediately received offers from several P5 offers. Looks like some coaches are using Dabo o identify hidden talent among prospects.

You’re spot on with that Joe. If they’re good enough for Clemson, they are good enough for us! Not all these kids will be “coached up” at some programs. That’s where we have the big advantage.
