Not sure about the fallback thing, but when looking at Rivals timeline, it is evident that we were a little slow pulling the trigger on his offer. He had 9 offers by the time he finally got ours.

And then it took Morris a long time to "scout" him, if Rivals reports are to be believed.

Plus, we have two top TEs on the squad already. That could have influenced his decision.

I said back a few months ago not to be surprised if he went out of state. I just think he likes the idea of being father than 20 minutes away from home.
I can't begrudge anyone doing what they feel is in their best interest, this is his decision. I wish him well in all that he does, but remember signing day isn't until February.
