Really really appreciate what jack has done

But it is time to pass the torch. We would not be the program we are with out him but I think this is the time for him to step aside. You cannot fire someone who consistently gets you to the post season like he does whether you like it or not. I'm just not sure he will do it because he loves the game and the university so much. I think it is time for him to retire the jersey and enjoy the success he has brought us while we move on building on the program that he has laid the foundation for.

I do not think it is necessarily time to pass the torch. However,I do think it is time for our new Athletic Director(Rado) to put Jack on the hot seat.He needs a face to face meeting with Jack, and set some meaningful goals.(One big issue ,I see,is lack of power hitters). Nothing short of Omaha, say by the 2015 season(basically giving Jack next year),would be a point where Dan would have the option of releasing Jack from his contract.

jack's teams look like a clan of midgets compared to the coots & others. No power whatsoever!

Jack likes small ball, and speed on the bases. However we need guys in the line up that can drive the ball.I don't necessarily mean homerun power, but who can deliver hits through the middle,up the lines,in the gaps, and do it with authority. Too many times we hit the ball where the opposing infielders, even the outfieldrs can run down the ball and hold us to a single. Then what happens, our next batter hits into a fielders choice,or worse yet a double play.Or a runner will get thrown out trying for that extra base ,simply because we have very little power to drive the ball.

You guys are unbelieveable with this Jack needs to step down crap! The guy is one of the winningest coaches in college baseball history. Not only that he is in the coaches hall of fame and consistently has us in the post season. Who would you arm chair coaches like to hire that would be an upgrade from Jack?

perfect title for the concept that this debate ever changes anyone's position on Jack. Those who love him will continue to no matter what. Those thinking change are equally entrenched.
I want Clemson baseball back on top of the conference. Something needs to change for that to happen.

What change would that be 74? We were very competitive in a very strong league with a bunch of freshman. I am not saying there are not concerns right now like our lack of success against our rivals but entertaining the thought that Jack should go right now is way over the top. Who realistically would you guys replace Jack with? And are you so sure this mythical savior of our program would leave the position where they are at to come to Clemson?

"Very Competitive in a strong league" me and you must have a different meaning for that word. One in Eighteen is not very competitive.

Championship ( maybe 4 straight)that they had a young team at some point. Youth is not an excuse when the quality of coaching far surpasses ours and that goes for NC, SC, NcSt, VA, FSU, Vanderbilt and whatever other team that has left us in the dust the last 10 years.

And so was Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno. Do you think they were at the top of their game in their final years?

should not be enough to keep your job at Clemson. CU is now the 4th or 5th program in conference and has lost 20 out of 28 to gamecocks. eyeball test says team is not close to overtaking unc, fsu, uva or gamecocks.

y'all do realize we're changing the game to match what Jack coaches - right? Shortening the field, possibly changing to minor league baseballs, etc. Once we start hitting golf balls off of tees, then we're good.
JK - I like Jack and respect the man enough to leave him alone. If we lose, then we lose. It's just time that our TIGERS showed some pride and play a lot better.
I say keep JL as long as he wants to stay here. Anyone see the Rice coach yesterday. Fine coach - and he's 77. Jack hasn't even hit his best years yet. Relax.
