nope...anyone with half a brain knows that there are teams in the NIT that are much better than some teams in the NCAA. I even said that when the coots won the NIT.

Conference affilation and automatic bids leaves a lot of good teams out.

31 automatically make the dance, plus Ivy League winner. It is widely accepted that the NIT champ probably should've been in as well as a few other quality NIT teams.

The most impressive thing about being the NIT champ is that the team continued to play hard even after getting shafted by the selection committee. It is very easy for the higher seeded teams to fall in the first few rounds. Call it dead legs or lack of effort but the motivated team usually prevails. That has a lot to do with coaching. This late in the year it's great to see the kids play hard and the coaches still develop efficient game styles and teaching the game.
