By South Carolina logic, since Urban Meyer and Nick Saban are 1 and 2, respectively, they should actually get championship rings. Both Meyer and Saban's most visual careers were at SEC teams after all.

How did he lose ? Someone needs to check the ballots. He was 1st in lack of integrity, He was 1st in lack of honesty. He was 1st in talent. (his talent involved telling desperately dumb fans that as soon as he walks out the door, he is a Gator and will blame his shortcomings on them ) He must have been dead last in the swimsuit competition due to him being older than dirt.

People loved John Wooden because he was classy. His teams beat everyone, but he did it the right way. UNLIKE Spurrier. FACT, jack!

No, not a fact, Jack!! You ever hear of UCLA sugar-daddy Sam Gilbert? Wooden was a great coach, and a great man, but he turned a blind eye to egregious infractions involving Gilbert and some of his best, and most famous players. The NCAA chose to wait until Wooden retired to drop the hammer, but his great legacy will be forever tainted because of what he knew, and didn't do.

Interesting little factoid on the Lou Holtz page in that article too... every Division I team Holtz coached for got busted for NCAA rules violations.
Didn't know that.

That's pretty much true. I'm not sure about Wm & Mary, but they may not have been D1 in the early 1970's. Definitely NCS, Ark, Minn, ND, and SC, though. It's funny how many people don't know that, since ol' Lou is all over the tube these days.
