This is kind of strange. I had forgotten about that. I'm ok with the punishment bu this does beg the question: if the minimum were 2 games all along, why did he state there was a chance he could play vs Auburn?

Maybe Dabo comes back a week before the game, reconsiders it and reduces it to one half vs Auburn due to Sammy's great behavior and response through camp? That would throw Auburn off big time. Can't say I'd argue it

Honestly if you can't tell that all he is doing is saying he isn't going to comment on the possible punishment until its been decided then its on you not him.
"There's a chance anything can happen" is a very dismissive way of saying "I'm not going into it"

i am thinking since the release was from bot and dabo, it may not have been all his decision. im sure tdp had imput as well. dabo may have wanted to play him and got out voted, just a theory, no evidence.

Wrong, I can tell you for a fact that the BOT and TDP had absolutely ZERO with this decision. Don't ask me how I know, but I can guarantee you if you believe that, then you don't have a clue about Dabo and HIS team!

Dabo said the minimum was 2 games ... he did not say WHICH 2 games.
Apparently he settled on Auburn and Ball State, but he could have picked some other two games and allowed Sammy to play against Auburn.
So, yes, there was "a chance" that Sammy could have played against Auburn.
