Why do we continue to deal with Raycom?

Jul 8, 2010, 10:49 AM

Oh I know why, because they're located in NC and funnel money back into the power players in Greensboro.

maybe they will work on that. just for you. the quality of the picture from my seat in the valley is crystal clear.

Seriously I have here the Raycom people are Swoffie cronies

Jul 8, 2010, 10:58 AM

Don't know if that true but I know it is not based on their broadcast excellence.

Jul 8, 2010, 11:41 AM

to paraphrase an old Jim Croce song:
"you don't tug on Superman's cape.
you don't spit into the wind.
you don't pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger
and you don't mess around w/Crump or Bmeist"...:~)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

HOW MUCH DO WE GET PAID $$$$$$$$$$$

Jul 8, 2010, 12:35 PM

We? We get paid nothing. The ACC gets $1.86 Billion over 12

Jul 8, 2010, 12:58 PM

The ACC gets over 1.86 Billion over 12 years. This works out to $155 million a year, which is more than double what the old deal was ($67 million)

Clemson will receive roughly $12.9 million each year... not a bad day

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Have those numbers been confirmed?

Jul 8, 2010, 1:20 PM

That was the rumor several months ago.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

13 mil a year sux compared to the Big 10 & SEC

Jul 8, 2010, 2:52 PM [ in reply to We? We get paid nothing. The ACC gets $1.86 Billion over 12 ]

Re: ESPN and ACC reach exclusive 12-year agreement

Jul 8, 2010, 4:09 PM

ugggh... I was hoping we would be done with Raycom. They make college football look/sound like the 1993 Scrabble championship.

Re: ESPN and ACC reach exclusive 12-year agreement

Jul 8, 2010, 4:19 PM

Yeah other leagues have their equivalent of Raycom. I know the SEC has Jefferson Pilot, but the production value on theirs is slightly better.

We should be fine though and not relegated to Raycom very often with this new deal. Only one more year of dealing with a bunch of games being on Raycom.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How much do Swofford & the ACC Board of Dees make annually

Jul 8, 2010, 5:38 PM

out of curiosity?
