Random factoid re. SC during TBs tenure
Sep 24, 2013, 8:27 AM

During the 9 seasons that TB coached against South Carolina, the Gamecocks had a stellar overall record of 54-53.
Wake Forest's record over the same 9-year period was 55-53.
Tommy Bowden was 7-2 vs both teams over those 9 years. His 3rd loss to WF in his 10th season was the final nail in his coffin and the last game that he coached at Clemson.
Just something to think about when throwing out the old "Well at least Bowden could beat South Carolina" schtick.

Yep! You are absolutely right, but to some on here who seem absolutely fixated on the coots, it doesn't matter. I think the bus has left them at the station.

The talent between the coots and us during the Bowden years was pretty close to even. I will give him credit for winning those games in that situation. That said, the coots have clearly been a better program since Dabo took over here.
The other MAJOR factor that often goes overlooked by the media and should even out now is how the coots have scheduled patsy non conference games before playing us. They have only lost ONCE to us since making that switch. Meanwhile we have had very meaningful conference matchups the week prior during that span. Now we too will play an out of conference game prior to the game so that should even it out again. Doesn't mean we will win the game but take last year where they were able to sit Clowney and rest him for us as they played Wofford. No way they can do that against another SEC team and it might have made a difference with his health because we can all agree he was a major difference maker against us in the second half especially.

CU's record

This would have been more interesting if you would have included CU's overall record during that time period.

We don't need to be taking shots at Christians. Dabo is a Christian man as well. Christians aren't perfect people, we all have short comings. I think overall Bowden helped the program.

During TB's time South Carolina had the Orange crush to deal with. Tennessee, Florida, and then Clemson. Not many teams could pull that off much less them especially when Florida and Tennessee were National powers.
