Quote 1 for house painting work.

Aug 14, 2019, 8:12 AM

$1,700. This includes all labor and materials to pressure clean everything to remove dirt mold mildew and provide for maximum adhesion. Scraping and sanding all loose flaking paint then patching and caulking as needed. Then painting all soffits fascias gutters downspouts entry doors whith Behr exterior top of the line semi gloss. Also nailing down any loose boards.

This is probably a reasonable amount.

Dong, I think I'll be needing your guy's contact info.

Worth every penny

I don't mind painting interior. But exterior is a PIA if you don't do it right.

I like your funny words magic man

I don't disagree with that.

Aug 14, 2019, 8:15 AM

While I was talking with the guy last evening he mentioned a big part of the cost being the prep work. Of course, that is the part I'd be most worried about messing up.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Seems like a good price

Aug 14, 2019, 8:30 AM

and solid prep

Aug 14, 2019, 10:05 AM

Especially if you need a lot of caulking.

We will go back to the original quote.

Then to yankejoe's reply, I was simply trying to make sure he knew that is was only the gables, trim, etc and not the entire house.

All work listed will be done to all wood surfaces. I just don't have all that much wooden surface area.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That makes it more understandable,

Aug 14, 2019, 1:02 PM

But still a really good deal... or its gonna be a crappy job. Hence me asking if you were going to be available to watch progress to make sure it is done well.

I suppose I could take time off and sit in the yard

Aug 14, 2019, 1:07 PM

I used to work as a drover on a brick ranch.

I just paid $400 to have my porch painted

Aug 14, 2019, 11:09 AM

Actually, that's 4 columns, banisters and railing on about a 5' x 15' porch. They did in in about 4.5 hours.

It'll be $300 to come back and paint the soffits, fascia and around 2 windows and a door on the same porch. Probably 2-3 hours work.

I'd say your price is excellent, and well worth it.

Yikes that is low. Too low imo.
Be sure he has insurance and workers comp.
No payment up front.
I’m not sure what kind of quality you will get from him.
