Question about Watch ESPN
Apr 19, 2017, 4:36 PM
|
|
Say I want to watch the Georgia-Clemson baseball game tonight on my big fancy TV. How might one go about doing that? I have an early generation ROKU, but the reception is turrible. Are there other options?

If you have bad ROKU reception it is because you have slow internet. Speed up your internet and you get a crystal clear picture.

Thanks. I will check into that. Supposedly, we have 45mbps. Shouldn't that be enough?

45mbps is more than enough....but there are too many variables

in how your device may/may not be setup to provide insight into why you are facing the issue that you are facing.

ESPN has an app on your TV that allows you to watch streaming games. Turn it to ESPN and it will prompt you to use the APP. It does on DIRECTV anyways

Ethernet from ROku to Router or modem works wonders.

If your big, fancy TV can access the internet, then open the browser and got to ESPN3.com, which will direct you to what you want..... or your TV may have the WatchESPN app already loaded.
If you have a laptop that can access ESPN3.com, you can set that up near the TV and run an HDMI cable to the TV, choose the proper input port and you will have the picture on the TV.
I used to do both of the above until I bought a ROKU3 - much better that way and well worth the money.

Thank you, sir. I have plenty of apps on the TV, but no Watch ESPN. I ultimately did as you suggested, wiring the computer to the TV, and it was fine. A considerable lag between audio and video, but acceptable.

Thank you. That worked. I will need to adjust the late-inning relief settings, but it ultimately turned out OK.
