Question about ACC Division Matchups

Are we forced to play GT every year? I've never really understood that - they're in the Coastal Division, so why are we always matched up with them? We don't play Duke, Pitt, Miami or VT every year, or even every few years it seems.. So what's the deal?

I just.. one of their guys chops Lawson and we lose him to an ACL injury for the rest of the year or something, we should be able to boycott those guys and their dirty play calling.

We are permanent cross division foes for Tech. Set up that way due to our proximity or something. I would much rather be permanent cross division foes with UVA or Duke (although Duke has been decent lately).

That's ridiculous - we should swap out the coastal teams. And to me, it's not about finding an easily beatable opponent - we're at the point we can compete with anyone in the nation. It's just the play by their offensive linemen. I don't understand - I've never been a lineman, but I've played a couple years of ball (WR). It was always taught to me that a good OL can stand on their feet and keep separation between a defender and the ball. Teaching players to dive at the legs of people (whether legal or illegal) just seems like nonsense and dirty play. I guess in the grand scheme of things, I'd take a loss and walk off with the same amount of healthy players that we enter a game with, versus winning and losing a couple guys.

I hate everything about them - they're almost at sc level on my hate list.

It seems like an unfair competitive advantage for those in the coastal ha have to play us and fsu every year and some of the others have to play.....say wake forest. I should be rotated every year.

Permanent cross division rivalries are in place to accommodate the FSU/Miami rivalry.
