What a tribute this is to Dabo and the staff and all aspects of academics at Clemson. Instilling the benefits of academic work into student-athletes is quite a fete.
Congratulations and keep up the good work. It is paying off.

While Coot fans claim that we must be cheating to land top prospects after a 6-7 season, maybe they need to realize that even after a mediocre season Clemson still has way more to offer than Cootlumbia.

1) Scenery
2) Gameday Atmosphere
3) Tradition
4) Academics (As evidenced by this article alone)
5) Need I even keep going? Need I even bring up the actual football aspect of it, where Clemson has been the better program for over 100 years? Nah I don't need to keep going, case closed.

I am sure there will be some on this board who point out that this is the reason we don't win more, not enough thugs.
Way to go coach. It is great to have coaches who actually care about their players life after football. This can only help us with parents in recuiting.

can I trade some of these for championships?***

Outstanding. I wish college FB wasn't turning into the NFL.

This type of stat is extra-curricular for most people. To me, and those fans who perceive college football in a healthy way, this stat is extremely important; right up there with wins and losses.

I really hope Dabo succeeds because the type of program he is apparently running is the way college football programs should be run, from an ethical standpoint.

agreed.

As much as we would all like to see the football team go undefeated every year, our football coach's primary responsibility is to educate the young men that choose to study at Clemson University IMO.

Having said that, Bowden had a solid academic record but eventually resigned because he couldn't win the ACC. This is a great accomplishment, but it doesn't guarantee longevity as Clemson's football coach...

I totally accept and agree with your last sentence. Dabo needs

to do both, but few people consider them equal accomplishments. Most focus on NFL type expectations and forget what college sports are supposed to be.

Lets be honest, major college football is big business. That

understand that are going to hold on as long as possible before the NFL type fans completely destroy it. Maybe the NCAA will do something to save it, but it looks inevitable that we will simply have minor league football instead of real college athletics. Pearls before swine I guess.

Kudos to Dabo. Considering all of the trivial things that

certain larger newspapers in the state find worthy of coverage, you would think this merits at least a mention, but I have not seen any.

Congrats to Dabo, the players, and the entire support staff.***
