Please give Martavis privacy and time

As requested by his family right now. Let him figure this out and determine his next step. Only Martavis can do what must be done now. He has to do it on his own timeline and when he's ready. It is his fight to win or lose. Prayers appreciated

Fine by me. I hope he gets the help he needs because clearly there is an addiction problem and he is paying a heavy price for it.

Marijuana addiction is real. Don't kid yourself.

Sure it doesn't have the chemical addiction of cocaine or heroin, But it is still dangerous.
I've seen it ruin the lives of friends who just could not quit. Pretty clear it is ruining Martavis.

It’s not that dangerous, id much rather be around someone driving that is stoned than someone texting on their cellphone or drinking Jack Daniels driving through Red lights at 80 mph.

I’m not saying that it’s not addictive, I’m saying I can think of about 10 other things in a common household people use is more dangerous. Also, if you want to be technical, heart disease in America is the number 1 killer. Millions of Americans still refuse to put down bacon right? So is bacon an addiction?

Those herein arguing the point of addiction need to step back and recognize the original request of the post! Quit trivializing the whole picture! Drugs in many forms can be addictive and therefore those involved need treatment.
By the way heart disease is the number one killer of individuals in America and as a heart patient comments about bacon are way out of line! Unless you have dealt with it you have no understanding and such comments are not appropriate,

Sorry to offend, I have had family members die of heart disease. My intention wasn’t to offend, it was to give facts about what causes heart disease. And yes, bacon as well as other unhealthy processed fatty foods are the contributing factors. Just becase it offended you doesn’t make it less true.

Struggling with alcohol or nicotine or black tar heroin, who knows?
Best of luck to him to battle his demons and get to a better place

Me too. But, just in case, I deleted his contact info in my cell phone and told him he probably shouldn't come over for the cookout today.

All I have to say if you got caught one time in a real job it would be over I do not feel any sorrow for someone who gets special treatment because he is good in football think he should be banned from ever playing again and have to earn a real living

to buy a life time supply of weed and support his family without football? That may be a more realistic question. Always been a big fan of Martavis' abilities on the field. Sad story.

What Martavis needs is a light . Not a light to come on ... but flame. Dude has made his choice and it's weed .

Did someone from TigerNet harass him or something? Why are you asking anonymous people on a message board to give him privacy?

I agree, but what a complete jerk move. It wasn't something like some heavy drug took over his life. It was just weed and he threw his whole life away.

How much time does he need to figure this out?
Sep 3, 2018, 3:27 PM
|
|
What's to figure out? Either stop breaking the law and costing yourself and your family millions of dollars, or don't stop breaking the law, and face the consequences. He has had multiple warnings, slaps on the wrist, and now suspensions.
He has been given an opportunity few have, to play a sport for millions of dollars. He has received slaps on the wrist, followed by harsher penalties. He is a grown man and it is past time for him to decide whether he wants to be a professional football player or a drug addict. He has already proven that he can't be both at the same time.
I will certainly be praying for him and his family.
