They lost in the Gator bowl to OSU and finished 10-2 their best season ever finished number 11 without any championship.

That was shocking to me to, I had to look up...lol

Things went all down hill before and after for them.

and if my memory serves me correctly, the #1 ranked team in the country lost earlier on that very day in 1984 before the Midshipmen sunk the dreams of the gamecock faithful to the depths of the ocean floor for eternity. A lot of people point to that game as the reawakening of the Chicken Curse.
