I don't like to defend the guy, but this is often how false narratives spread. I heard him on the radio this morning say that Clemson isn't one of the best 4 teams right now based on how teams have looked so far this season. He also added that the Playoffs aren't being picked today so things could change. He did add that Clemson probably wouldn't make it in if they lose a game, which is something most of us already agree with.
These comments came after he was asked about the game against UNC. He did add that he thought it looked as if our team was playing with the weight of the world on our shoulders. He basically meant that he thinks the team is putting too much pressure on themselves to live up to the hype, and to be perfect on every play after hearing all off season how unstoppable they were. I can't say that I disagree with anything he said really, and it sort of reminds me of how Watson played to start the 2016 season before he finally settled in.

I didn't really word things correctly when I said false narrative. He did say Clemson hasn't looked like one of the best 4 teams based on how things have gone so far this season. I just mean that if someone only read the "Clemson is not one of the 4 best teams" comment that they aren't getting the full picture of what he said.

Absolutely are not one of the 4 best teams so far. How could any reasonable person think so? Do I hope we get it together by the end of the season, absolutely. We have proven that we can do that . . in numerous occasions. But it isn't automatic. The kids have to improve and the coaches have to handle it correctly. One of these days it isn't going to happen. Here's to hoping this year isn't the year. There's too much talent here. Too much proven coaching . I think it will happen. But right now? Nope if they picked today we wouldn't be picked. But lets see bu late November.

For some reason or another, our fan base seems to fall for it hook, line, and sinker. It's probably another reason he get's enjoyment out of it.
The bottom line is that it doesn't matter what anyone says, if this team wins out, wins the ACC...they're in.

Last year, we had survived a two point conversion at Texas A&M, and had to make a massive comback in game 5 against Syracuse to get to 5-0. Pundits all over America were downplaying the Tigers. They said we were way over-rated, our schedule is soft, and we aren't deserving. Meanwhile, Dabo had played (and continues to do so) everyone who dresses out on the team. We could be like Bama and keep our starters in through 3 quarters against everybody and score 65-75 points, but what does that accomplish? In each of the past 4 seasons, teams like Oklahoma and Alabama come out of the gates in September and score a gazillion points. That tends to get them a lot of attention. However, how has that worked out for them in the end?

Well...he’s correct as of today. There are at least 4 teams playing better football right now. Hopefully we get better as the season goes on...I think we will and be right there at the end.

Another things is that no one is going to beat the Wake and App St drums just yet...... just like we can continue to win, so can they and then UNC's losses to them can also be ignored.
UNC looks like a real football team after watching them in the Dirt ###### game, Wake and Clemson Coverage.
they could be the 1-2 team in the Coastal...... of course no one will give them any legitimacy.
