Tips for GT gameday

Sep 13, 2016, 11:20 AM

This is my first time heading down to Bobby Dodd for a game. Anyone have any suggestions about parking, good places to eat, etc.?

We always like eating at the Varsity.***

Just a short walk from the stadium from the station or the Varsity.

Not the Varsity.

Agreed....the Varsity is a sad shell of its former

self. It's mass produced corporate crap that is over priced. It was once a glorious place.....but now it's kind of gross

Yep the food sucks but it's good to park there.
It's a short walk and I've never had trouble getting out of there.

God Bless you - been to the last 3 games there so taking one

for the team and not going this year. I've parked at the Varsity and had a good experience. Last time there we parked in random parking garage and then just walked around a light cooler and talked with other tailgaters.

Look there is no tailgating per se because you are smack in the middle of a huge city. I live a few blocks from the stadium and with this being a weekday night game I would not drive in for all the money in the world. Take MARTA to North Ave and walk to one of the neighborhood bar/pubs. I would recommend Hudson Grill or Taco Mac on Peachtree or for a more cozy place try cypress pint and plate on Cypress. This part of town has become more walkable each year and you will see tons of Tiger fans walking over. Also to get to stadium take the 5th street bridge. Much easier walk than North Ave or 14th. Safe travels and CU in Atlanta
